Meyer Utility Structures is Hiring a Transportation Analyst Near Steele, AL

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa company, is looking for a Transportation Analyst for our plant in Gadsden, AL. The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for managing transportation processes (i.e. Shipment Planning & Execution, Freight Bid Review, Internal & External Key Contributor for Transportation Alignment) to ensure we provide the best solutions and meet customer requirements. This position will coordinate tasks driving continuous cost and service improvement by recommending and implementing improvements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate load planning with customers and suppliers to maintain delivery dates & time requirements based on specific customer criteria for unloading
  • Communicate across all departments in the plant and management for job completion
  • Ensure the output of transportation management centralized processes meets solution design specifications and customer requirements
  • Proactively monitor and manage key performance indicators for OTD & cost
  • Execute analysis and bid data preparation in support of operations activities
  • Provide all support function activity, including accuracy and timeliness of data processing, reporting, analysis, and all other customer-specific inquiries
  • Process and distribute weekly & monthly transportation/shipping customer metrics
  • Build relationships with carriers & TMS provider
  • Create and enter loads into the TMS systems daily
  • Plan, develop & update load tracker spreadsheet

What You’ll Need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of transportation operations experience, including carrier management, transportation planning, knowledge of operational shipping, and TMS (Transportations Management Systems) required for this position
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) with the ability to actively maintain several spreadsheets with data sources linked between the spreadsheets
  • Dispatch transportation knowledge and skills are required
  • Ability to create and use BOL/packing lists
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree is preffered or equivalent work experience
  • AS400 knowledge preferred
  • Blueprint reading skills are strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of safe loading practices and inventory management of WIP/finished goods
  • Knowledge of trailer types for load planning monopole structures and anchor bolt cages
